Kyla has joined us to offer an Occupational Therapy service to support children/young people and adults.
This includes an initial general assessments for OT support and specific sensory processing issues. This has come from a huge need we identified in supporting our clients with mental health difficulties or neurodiversity. Kyla also offers:
- supporting letters for PIP applications
- AHP Health & Work Reports for people needing workplace adjustment recommendations
- support in finding appropriate employment or adjustments/adaptations to current employment
- Autism assessment collaborator to provide sensory based assessments and recommendations
- offering Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) in group settings, a well as working with client's families.

Kyla qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2012 and worked in adult mental health since in a range of settings, both NHS and Private. Kyla has extensive experience of working with individuals to set and then achieve occupational goals to be able to engage in the activities they need and want to do. She is qualified in Sensory Integration (Level 1) and experienced in sensory assessments and therapy (including Sensory Ladders) to ultimately help individuals to regulate their emotions and engage in their chosen occupations. She is passionate about helping people understand themselves and their abilities, and then providing the support needed to make desired changes in their life.

General OT assessment and bespoke support with activities of daily living (e.g. self-care, study/work, leisure time). £80/hour

Kyla also offers several packages of support as follows. These generally take place at her clinic, however if preferred/beneficial to be seen at home, home visits can be arranged, with travel time payable and mileage expenses of 50p per mile.

Screening appointment:

Standardised Assessment conducted remotely, either the Sensory Processing Measure-2 (SPM-2) or Adult/Adolescent Sensory Profile (1hr)

Stage 1: Assessment

Clinical Observations and daily routine interview (2-3hrs)

Conduct Standardised Assessment, either the Sensory Processing Measure-2 (SPM-2) or Adult/Adolescent Sensory Profile - an interview conducted either via TEAMS or Face to Face in clinic (2hrs)

Scoring and Interpretation (2hrs)

Feedback about the findings, formulation and recommendations (1 - 1.5hrs)
Totalling 7-8.5 hours.

Stage 2: Sensory Modulation Intervention/Therapy

With the knowledge of the assessment outcomes can build on recommendations and help develop personalised;

Depending on need, totalling approx. 3-4 hours.

Stage 3: Collaboration/Signposting
-
Sharing assessment outcomes and recommendations with employee’s, family etc. to build a support network of understanding.

Signposting to practitioners who can provide more therapy for specific areas of need e.g. speech and language therapist.
​
Review Sessions:
-
A chance to review the recommendations made initially to evaluate any progress and change function.

Additional recommendations and/or adjustments can be made.

Typically at 3 and 6 months after initial assessment or at any point on a case by case basis.
